Bug Description

I do not know whether this bug was ever fixed or not. If not, it should be fixed in a future update.

-----------------------
At one point (but as stated above, maybe not now?), if a player died by reflect_magic or by being alignment-zapped by equipment, his or her equipped items would ghost out. Ie, the equipment would show up on locate but not on 'where,' and did not seem to actually exist for any purpose whatsoever except to the locate object spell. Since the items could not be retrieved from the corpse, they had to be reimbursed by hand once the ghosting was confirmed.

Needs tester to try to reproduce this bug and if they do, to detail exactly the steps for a coder to reproduce. This will help get a quick fix out. It may also be useful to write down what an imm sees once this bug has occurred, there could be a second bug here. As much detail as possible please.

Additionally, there have been times where I've seen a bag in a room when I've entered, but when I look again it's not there. Usually it's a container (bag/sack/etc). I don't know if this is related or not, and it's nearly impossible to replicate, but there it is. :)

The Bag issue is most likely associated with camo items on the ground.

Silverking, is it possible that you're seeing normal camo behaviour?

@Jam and Gatt,

It could very well be. I don't play rangers so I never really knew much about camo (as dumb as that sounds). :)

Well i do not think this is a bug, but more of an after affect. Since camo'd eq is hidden from players view unless you are a Ranger I believe. So seeing that a ranger has this on some of their eq and they die, then the problem becomes how does the world code see it. Doing a where <obj> or locate obj has differences. I have not checked this yet, but I would guess that doing where for immortals does not see the camo eq, but the game knows its there because of the object index. Locate could have the ability to see it because it can see camo'd eq.

This is my guess, but i would have to look further.

Let's assume that original bug description is what this bug refers to, i.e. zappage causing eq loss and see if a tester can reproduce on the test port. Should be fairly easy with the assistance of someone that can set hps to 1 and alignment to something that would cause zappage.
