Bug Description
Binary package hint: xserver-
When typing a paper, it's often needed to turn off the touch pad by pressing the hardware disable button. Upon trying to re-enable the touch pad by pressing the button again the system will not recognize mouse clicks. The cursor will follow touch pad movements, but clicking on anything at all doesn't work. No left clicking and no right clicking. Using an external mouse does not help or work either. Keyboard input is also disabled. This behavior is new for this laptop and only appeared in 10.04.

i am using a HP dv5-1157 and have the same problem, if I disable the touchpad with the hardware button - the keyboard becomes unresponsive, when i enable the touchpad - the mouse will move but the clicks are not recognized and the keyboard remains unresponsive. This leads to a hard reboot.
