express broadband card GE0301 connects on every second attempt with Lucid

Bug Description

Binary package hint: network-manager

The mobile broadband card:
vodafone mobile connect card express UMTS broadband (GE0301)

which show up in lsusb as:
Bus 003 Device 002: ID 0af0:7011 Option

Fails to connect on every second attempt.

Symptom:
1. Successful connect
2. Disconnects with network-manager error message:
    Error received: Numerical result out of range
    Original message: type=0x19 length=48 flags=<REQUEST,ACK> sequence-nr=1273059069 pid=4196168
3. Fails to connect
4. "Disconnects" without error message

These logs are appended to view the details:
nm.log.txt network-manager log with multiple connection attempts
modem.log.txt modem-manager log (same session)
mm-test.log output of mm-test.py script

Option GlobeTrotter Express GE442 card is a different card, that shows similar issues.

I fear there has been an issue when you generated the ModemManager logs; as it hasn't started properly. Could you please retry the same steps and attach another copy of the output of ModemManager with what happens as it successfully connects or fails to connect?

Tested and verified, that this issue is now solved in Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meercat. - Please close this ticket.
