Bug Description
Binary package hint: simple-scan
I'm using simple scan 1.0.2 with an Hp Officejet 4252 combined scanner and printer on Ubuntu 10.04 and whenever I scan an a4 document the resultant image always comes out too long, leaving me with a lot of whitespace that I need to crop out, which doesn't always produce accurate results.
I've attached a screenshot of the output

I experience the same problem. I tested on two different machines with two different scan devices (one is a Samsung and one an HP). What I found out (at least for my setup) - which I tried on one of the two machines so far only:
When I have a user with german UI it always shows the buggy behaviour (see DE-Files in the attachment).
Then I tried with my primary user with english UI: It work fine when I just hit the Scan button or scan a single page. But when I choose to scan "All Pages From Feeder" then it gets the additional black (if scanning in text mode) or white (if scanning in foto mode) "piece of paper".
Note - if that helps: That last piece is appearing at once and not pixel row by pixel row as the paper is drawn through the scanner. And both scanners are of the type printer/scanner/fax all-in-one.
