Bug Description

Binary package hint: evolution

I cannot send e-mail (either original or reply or forward)from this evolution e-mail package. This just happened this week.I used the update manager twice since this bug happened and it was not fixed. I can send from a different e-mail program running under "windows XP" on the same machine and it works correctly. I checked the settings for sending in evolution and they match the other e-mail program so I don't think anything has changed or is wrong with the set up of evolution on my part. I can receive e-mail on this evolution e-mail program so I am connecting to the server OK.

System info:
Ubuntu 9.10
Kernel linux 2.6.31-21-genaric
GNOME 2.28.1

Evolution version:
2.28.1-0ubuntu2

Thanks, Gene

Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to a question in the support tracker. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but it would make more sense to raise problems you are having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if you are uncertain if they are bugs. For help on reporting bugs, see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#When%20not%20to%20file%20a%20bug.

Steve,
I don't know what your comment refers to? Are you saying OK thanks to my original bug report or are you saying OK thanks to Mr Pedro Villavicencio's comment that this is not a bug and is instead "user error"?
FYI- I went to the support tracker site and could not find anything that helped me get my e-mail program to once again start sending messages.Oh well, I will probably just give up and send messages using the windows xp operating system e-mail program that I also have installed on the same machine. Too bad since I would really like to make Ubuntu my main OS.
Thanks....Gene

suddenly both evolution and transmission got buggy.
i am on 10.10 amd64 and it has been ok earlier.

"the connection timed out smtp.online.no" is the feedback in evolution
"DHT not ready (broken, 0 nodes) in transmission
