Thank you for reporting this to Ubuntu. Did you disable all of your extensions, or just the Italian language pack?

After a crash i had the opportunity to
- open the page i was visiting before,
- open a new firefox session.

As opening the same page meant to have a new crash, i chose the "new session" option.

At this point, firefox searched for upgrades and showed me the italian language pack. For the truth, there was no upgrade avaible for this package, so i disabled it, leaving the others extensions enabled. And firefox worked good.

I can also specify that, after i posted my bugs, i enabled the italian langpack again, and i had no problems with other sites (while i had to disable it again to reply you!): could it be a conflict between the script of the package and of this site (and similars)?

That's a possibility. In order to make sure it is not due to the language pack conflicting with any other extensions you have installed, would you mind testing this on a new profile that has just the language pack installed? You do not need to delete your default profile in order to do this. To create a new profile, launch the following command in a terminal:

firefox -ProfileManager

Then create a new profile, select it, and launch Firefox. Afterwards, you can install the Italian language pack on the new profile, then try replying to this comment to see if it crashes Firefox or not. Thanks in advance!

Ok, i tryed to write firefox -ProfileManager in the terminal and create a new user, but i still experienced some troubles... In fact, after i created the "testUser" i selected it and i clicked on "start firefox". Good, it runs.
Then i pressed: "Tools->Add-ons" to see if italian language pack was enabledor not, but it crashed before to open the add-ons window.

What happened in the terminal

$ firefox -ProfileManager
   Attempting to load the system libmoon
   Segmentation fault

Note that: libmoon is a library required by silverlight/moonlight plugin that is necessary to whatch Italian tv in streaming. I tryed to disable that plugin and restart firefox but i had the same error.

I also unistalled a few extensions and tryed again, but i still have the same problem.

Finally i executed the "firefox -Profilemanager" command and started the "Default" user. Here it is the terminal output:
$ firefox -ProfileManager
   Error shredding temp files: TypeError: this.tmpDir is null

Moonlight (libmoon) is known to not be very compatible with Firefox on Lucid (bug 538796). Can you make sure libmoon is removed from your system (at least temporarily to test this) and see if it resolves the issue at all? If it doesn't, can you try creating a new profile again and testing the language pack? Thanks!
