Bug Description
i have downloaded the i386 iso image which was on http://
1) when i click on <esc> at the very beginning and choose linux-expert it answer it has not got any kernel for this command;
2) i choose plain linux and the boot window appears, gnome starts but i am advised that it could not load themes so some programs could not work properly;
3) i click on install icon and it starts the installer which crashes when i should choose the language; i'm asked to report two syslog files (if i am not mistaken /var/log/
4) i shutdown and try to open the files which should be in the floppy on another computer, but they do not show up.
Please file separate problems as separate bugs in future.
1): This is correct. The desktop CD does not have an expert mode. Sorry.
2), 3): This indicates read errors from the CD, and it sounds like a dodgily burned CD, or a dirty CD drive lens. I suggest burning the CD at a lower speed and cleaning the CD and the drive lens with an off-the-shelf cleaning kit.
4): Probably a further symptom of 2) and 3), or else you made a mistake copying to the floppy.
