No hibernate option on MSI GX600 laptop

Bug Description

Yesterday, I installed Lynx on my MSI GX600 laptop and was sad to see there is no hibernate option available from the menu. I am using the nvidia driver, setting an option in xorg.conf did not work out.
Since many users experience hibernate problems with Lynx, I suppose it is not necessary to post any further information. If you need any, however, don't hesitate to answer.

Thanks,
wen87

Sure, what files etc. do you need? Sorry, I'm a relative beginner...

Here is an exact description of the problem:
While Suspend-to-RAM works after a recent pm-utils fix, there is no hibernate option in the GNOME menu. Executing pm-hibernate from the terminal results either
a) in a system apparently hibernating correctly, but then booting from scratch (and checking HDD drives!) or
b) in a message "cannot hibernate".

Marked as invalid: I had activated the "encrypted home" feature; but hey, why is this issue still not fixed and the feature offered in the alternate setup? I didn't know hibernate was broken by simply enabling encryption.
