Could you please also attach /var/log/partman? I suspect you might have tried to install Ubuntu on a XFS partition. Can say for sure upon seeing the partman file requested above.

Have a great day!

Hi there,

Sorry i've already rebooted and lost the logs. However your suspicion is correct. I was trying to install on XFS. Is there a work around? Or should I just revert to ext3? (i would really like to use xfs)

Thanks for your report. Due to some reliability problems with GRUB and
XFS, you need to use a non-XFS root filesystem or create a non-XFS /boot
filesystem. The fact that the partitioner doesn't warn you about this
up-front is also bug 47848, and is fixed in dapper-updates.

Rejecting since reporter does not have logs. Is a duplicate too.

Changed in ubiquity:
status: Unconfirmed → Rejected

I fixed this, as reported in the other many instances of this issue by creating a 100mb /boot ext3 partition.
