Bug Description

I have a Compaq Presario V5000 laptop. I blank screen when I attempt to suspend or hibernate. It looks like it successfully sleeps on suspend, but my laptop doesn't wake up, and I have to do a hard reboot. When I reboot after an unsuccessful suspend, I must Enable Networking as well.

When I attempt to hibernate I also get a blank screen and my PC doesn't hibernate. I must hard reboot to restore the system.

I love Ubuntu very much and wish these two features worked as they are supposed to work.
