I can set the screen brightness high and low with the function keys but not with the window Power Management Prefernces (tab On AC Power).

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager
It makes no difference on AC power or Battery. When I start up the laptop the screen brightness is always HIGH.
It was perfect working in Ubuntu 9.10.
