Bug Description

Binary package hint: totem

Totem can not open the online radio in this link:
http://cluster.quantumart.ru/broadcast/default.aspx?media=rusradio

The playlist at this location contains both rtsp and http streams. The rtsp streams fail to play directly in any player I have tried (totem, mplayer and vlc).
The rtsp stream appears first in the playlist. vlc seems to skip the streams it can't play, but totem just throws an error on the first stream and gives up:

** Message: Error: Could not read from resource.

This might work in Totem with the newly released GStreamer Base Plug-ins 0.10.31. From the release notes:

Features of this release

* rtsp: improve rtsp timeout calculation and handling

Bugs fixed in this release

* 633455 : [rtsp] don't let the rtsp connection timeout

That's a GNOME bug number - the corresponding bug is at https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=633455

This package should soon make it's way into the Ubuntu 11.04 "Natty Narwhal" repositories (you can monitor this at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gst-plugins-base0.10 ). When it does, can you please download the Ubuntu 11.04 "Natty Narwhal" alpha 1 LiveCD, update to gst-plugins-base0.10 0.10.31 and test?

This issue has sat incomplete for over 5 years without any response to comment #4. The report was raised against a very old release of Ubuntu and did not expire due to the bug watch so I'm closing it as "Invalid".

Please feel free to re-open this bug report if this still an issue for you.
