Bug Description

1) Ubuntu 10.04 LTS
2) openjdk-6-jre 6b18-1.8-0ubuntu1
3) feature wish: MOCCA (Modular Open Citizen Card Architecture) just works with standard JRE
4) MOCCA only supports Sun JRE 1.6.0 update 04 [1,2]
If I recall right I already had to install Oracle's JRE for installation. I leaved openJDK as is which means command 'javaws' still linked to openJDK? Program started and seemed to work: within Help and PIN-management no error was detected by me though I didn't try management intensively out. Afterwards I started Firefox and tried to login at easybank.at which uses "a.trust approved services" [3,German] in combination with my citizen card. This resulted in a "ssl_error_internal_error_alert" shown by Firefox.

So I completely removed packages of openJDK which only left java-6-sun and clicked the already existing desktop icon of MOCCA to start the program. - MOCCA seems to "reinstall" itself every time clicking this icon. Anyhow command changed from "javaws" to "/usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun-1.6.0.20/jre/bin/javaws" and login at my bank does fine now.

Clemens Orthacker stated 2010-03-22 that another problem "seems to be related to unsupported tray icon (which seems to
work with a current version of openJDK, however)" [4].

EGovLabs lists MOCCA requirements on the Java platform with hints for issues with openJDK [1]

This issue isn't top priority to me as Oracle's JRE does fine, though MOCCA with OSS Java would be fine in the long-run plus I think it's rather an upstream issue.

Greetings
Martin

ad [4] trustDesk Basic is an alternative for MOCCA but it isn't OSS and support is discontinued due to preference of MOCCA. People with new citizen card (E-Card) already can't use trustDesk basic anymore - but they may by trustDesk professional.

so the only "supported version" is a version unsupported by sun/oracle with known security issues? interesting.

the tray issue should be fixed.
