Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-bluetooth

The bluetooth adapter on my Asus Eee PC 1005 HA is not being detected in Lucid: "your computer does not have any bluetooth adapters plugged in". It worked fine in Karmic, so this seems to be a regression bug.

Emille,

Open a new bug report if you have the same problem.
I don't even know if you have the same hardware, the same kernel, ....

so open a terminal and type "ubuntu-bug bluez"

Thanks

and this is certainly not a gnome-bluetooth problem, gnome-bluetooth is just a graphical frontend, and the adapter is even not discover at hci level.

affects: gnome-bluetooth (Ubuntu) → bluez (Ubuntu)
Changed in bluez (Ubuntu):

I don't think this is a duplicate as in bug #416487 it
1) didn't work with in 9.04 or 9.10 while it worked for me in those releases, and
2) he says he "cannot get the bluetooth manager to find bluetooth mice or nearby computers", doesn't say anything about "your computer does not have any bluetooth adapters plugged in".
Furthermore I have a 1005HA-PU. Could be that that model ships with a different bluetooth adapter.

Can you please attach the output of the following command ?

$ sudo lsusb -vv

I have a EEEPC 1201N and it has a broadcom BT device and Lucid kernel is able to recognise it.

After updating my Bios to v1401 through the automatic updater in Windows, Bluetooth works like a charm now. Strange though, that it worked with the old Bios and Karmic...
Can be closed i guess.
