Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. This bug did not have a package associated with it, which is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. You can learn more about finding the right package at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage . I have classified this bug as a bug in python-qt4.
(With many applications, you can report a future bug directly on the appropriate package by opening the application's "Help" menu and choosing "Report a Problem". https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs)

affects: ubuntu → python-qt4 (Ubuntu)

This wasn't an actual package bug, but a transient I/O error experienced by dpkg, perhaps hardware related.

Preparing to replace python-qt4 4.6-1 (using .../python-qt4_4.7.2-0ubuntu1_i386.deb) ...
Unpacking replacement python-qt4 ...
dpkg-deb: subprocess paste killed by signal (Broken pipe)
dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/python-qt4_4.7.2-0ubuntu1_i386.deb (--unpack):
short read in buffer_copy (backend dpkg-deb during `./usr/lib/pyshared/python2.6/PyQt4/QtCore.so')
No apport report written because the error message indicates a dpkg I/O error

Changed in python-qt4 (Ubuntu):
status: New → Invalid
