Bug Description

Binary package hint: empathy

Changing the avatar to the attached 'Wonder Woman.jpg' image causes high cpu load and hang in empathy. I am able to change it in jabber and aim, but not 'People Nearby'.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Save attached image to $HOME/tmp/Wonder Woman.jpg
2. Open empathy
3. Click Edit/Personal Information
4. select the People Nearby Account
5. Click avatar and navigate to $HOME/tmp, then double click on Wonder Woman.jpg

Reproducible: yes

This happens on both amd64 and i386.
