Bug Description

Binary package hint: gwibber

I just upgrade my Karmic installation to Lucid yesterday. The upgrade had a few issues, but otherwise went well. This morning I attempted to run gwibber with the following results:

The gwibber ui came up and displays all the account information in tree form on the left of the ui. I'm using gwibber to post messages to identi.ca and twitter. Neither of these two services are displaying any content. Furthermore, It seems to allow me to post, but when I look at either of these two services I realize that nothing was posted. Please help!

I have in fact rebooted many times and this hasn't changed the behavior. When I run gwibber I get no real error messages. Here is the output I get when running from a commandline.

~> gwibber

** (gwibber:11183): WARNING **: Trying to register gtype 'WnckWindowState' as enum when in fact it is of type 'GFlags'
** (gwibber:11183): WARNING **: Trying to register gtype 'WnckWindowActions' as enum when in fact it is of type 'GFlags'
** (gwibber:11183): WARNING **: Trying to register gtype 'WnckWindowMoveResizeMask' as enum when in fact it is of type 'GFlags'

if I run it with "-d" option I get a little extra:

~> gwibber -d

Once I quit I get no other information displayed. If try to post a tweet from the client, the message goes somewhere but not to the Twitter service.

I have been using gwibber with the Beta release (no problems) and today did a fresh install of the final release. Gwibber is now doing the same for me for my Twitter account... nothing shows up.

I have the same issue. I was running dailies of gwibber on KK and upgraded to LL. When I look at my gwibber feed the only updates are the cached ones from 3 days ago. I added another twitter account and nothing. No errors and no updates.

When I upgraded I received NO errors. A first for me.

@Sam, Please could you try to reproduce this issue in latest version of gwibber (2.30.0.1-0ubuntu3) and check if this problem is still affecting you? Thanks!

I don't know about Sam, but I still have the issue with an up-to-date gwibber on Lucid.

Is this only specific to twitter? can you try to add a facebook account or any other network and check if you see the contents. for twitter there might already be a bug report.

@Sam, Please could you run under latest version of gwibber: gwibber-service -d -o and attach all resulted output to a textfile, Thanks!

I believe I have the same problem as Sam. Nothing has ever shown up under my Facebook account in Gwibber. I've attached my output for 'gwibber-service -d -o' to this post.

In addition, to get my Facebook account to be added at all to Gwibber I had to increase the timeouts in /usr/share/pyshared/gwibber/microblog/util/facelib.py as described at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gwibber/+bug/552227/comments/70 . I don't know if this bug is down to a timeouts problem as well, but from a glance at the attached gwibber-service output, it might be somewhere to start from...
