Bug Description
Binary package hint: grub2
when I had to re-install Windows XP pro corporate, I lost the GRUB boot manager. I tried to run UBUNTU without re-installing, and I cannot understand how to make GRUB reload to allow operating system choice. I did manage to copy files I saved from old winXP into UBUNTU 9:10 - but now find some of them locked and uncopy-able. If the only answer is to totally reload UBUNTU, then I need to save the rest of my folders somehow... into Windows. Next time I must make a 3rd partition called ALLDATA, where I will save ALL my files.... at least if the opsys is corrupted, I can re-install any opsys anyhow without affecting my files.
