Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubuntuone-client

I have installed ubuntu one client on 9.10 and registered both my two computers with my u1 acct. When I place a file in u1 the folder the " updating files" message appears, but when I go to the website none of the files appear and files do not populate across computers. in the u1 folder the "connect" bar is always present and clicking the connect button causes it to briefly flash to something else "connecting"(?) but then it turns back to "connect" and nothing seems to change. The cloud in the panel seems to be connected (disconnect is clickable, but seems to have no effect when clicked.

Added info: tomboy notes no longer synchronize (they did so once). There is no message detail in the error box when it fails

I'm sorry to hear Ubuntu One is not working properly for you. If you would like to help debug the problem that would be greatly appreciated. You can do the following in order to provide important details that will help determine the root cause of this issue.

1) Quit the Ubuntu One client. Right-click on the Ubuntu One applet and select
'Quit'

2) Open Applications->Accessories->Terminal, then run the command:
mv ~/.cache/ubuntuone/log ~/.cache/ubuntuone/log_old && mkdir ~/.cache/ubuntuone/log

3) Run the following in the Terminal to open/create this file:
gedit ~/.config/ubuntuone/syncdaemon.conf

#Add the following two (2) lines to this file and save:
[__main__]
log_level = DEBUG

4) Open Ubuntu One Applications->Internet->Ubuntu One

5) Let Ubuntu One run for a while, copy some files into your Ubuntu One Folder.
Then attach your ubuntuone logs to this bug. Please zip your $HOME/.cache/ubuntuone/log/ folder and attach the zip here.

You can attach logs to this bug report by clicking the 'Add Attachment or patch' button at the bottom of the page. Thank you for filing this bug report and helping to make Ubuntu better.

I seem to have a similar issue, I have 18 files in my "Ubuntu One" folder totaling 474.1MB. The web interface to Ubuntu One shows only 13 files totaling 346.7MB. I have followed Mitch's instructions to generate debug information and will attach that.

I have added several files to my Ubuntu One folder today and several over the past month, none of them have been uploaded to the server, yet the client states that all files are up to date.

Hope the logs are useful.

There was also a file named syncdaemon-exceptions.log, however this file was empty. I had left Ubuntu One running for over one hour

I would like to second this problem. I'm using 9.10. My files in the Ubuntu One folder don't sync up to the web server or to the other computers. Nautilus shows a connect button but it just flashes when I push it and does not change to "disconnect". The cloud icon in my taskbar claims my files are up to date but the web server has different files on it than the local folder.

I would like to do something like "u1sync --action=clobber-server" to get back on track but the u1sync tool doesn't do anything, it gives no output at all, and it never exits. I tried using "u1sync --diff ~/Ubuntu\ One/" but I received no output at all, the program seemed to be stuck. I tried reauthorizing, reinstalling U1, and rebooting, with no luck. I tried using "u1sdtool" with no luck. If I could get that diff tool to work it would be hugely useful for me as I'm trying to use U1 to organize a bunch of files that are spread across multiple computers and when I have sync problems like this everything gets confusing really quickly.

I would like to note that U1 WAS working a few days ago on this computer just fine though the Nautilus bug was still there, as I used this computer to get the files on the web server in the first place, when I started my account. My other computer and laptop run 10.04 which is working much better for U1 and seems to be syncing with the web server just fine.
