Bug Description

Description: Ubuntu lucid (development branch)
Release: 10.04
Linux apth-desktop 2.6.32-21-generic #32-Ubuntu SMP Fri Apr 16 08:09:38 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux
grub-pc 1.98-1ubuntu5

Installed on fakeraid partition. Booted into grub2 menu. Selected /dev/mapper/...R1 installation and booted. Initialization hangs/freezes on init scripts, cups, acpi, lm-sensors...

Rebooted, select /dev/mapper/...R1 (recovery) in grub2 menu. Selected netroot in recovery menu. Ran startx command. Works good. Filled out this bug report.

As a side note. I also installed 10.04 development branch on an ide disc. That one works up until I get a beige screen with black vertical lines? (More on that some other time). Before that happened, I noticed when mounting my /dev/mapper...R1 partition into the ide 10.04 installation, the permissions of the /dev/mapper...R1 mount are set to drwx --- ---. While my other discs have group and other read execute permissions?

How can I change the permissions of my mapped fakeraid partition?

It's a little of both.

In that the isw fakeraid partition is mounted with root owner ship is a litttle bit of a bug. Alot of init processes run as different users!

But in asking how to change those permissions, makes it a good question.

Any ideas?
