Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubuntuone-client

Fresh karmic install - but I accidentally followed the jaunty instructions online to install ubuntu one. Nothing warned me of the incompatibility or that I supposedly already had ubuntu one. Now I've uninstalled all ubuntu one package and removed the Jaunty repository - and then re-installed the karmic ubuntu one, but it's still broken. I tried to run - look at me typing into this stupid bug box now :/

ZR,
sorry for the bit of confusion. You should be able to run the PPA/Beta version if you wish. However going from the newest version to the older one causes this error. The newer versions of U1 use a different kind of metadata. So you need to repopulate yours with a version compatible with the version you are using.

1. Quit the Ubuntu One client. From the applet select Quit. Then open a Terminal (Applications > Accessories > Terminal) and run the following to quit the syncdaemon.

u1sdtool -q

2. Delete the old metadata. In a Terminal run.

rm -rf ~/.local/share/ubuntuone

3. Start Ubuntu One as you normally would Applications > Internet > Ubuntu One

Let it run for a bit and let it repopulate your metadata

Thank you,
