Bug Description

Binary package hint: lvm2

please consider upgrade to at least version 2.02.58 (2.02.62 would be better) to add --merge functionality to lvconvert. it is VERY important if you want tu use ubuntu as a host for virtual machines. it allow lvm to revert vm filesystem to state from snapshot without copying whole volume with dd.

Fedora has had this since 13. We're now past 2.6.33 kernel, so this functionality is overdue.

I've been testing upgrading to natty with a build from my branch that I have proposed to be merged. It works well for me and I am able to lvconvert --merge then reboot to undo the upgrade to natty. Quite a nice feature.

Upstream made a new release, and I have updated open-readonly.patch to get rid of some warnings about opening for write access when it was not needed, and this also fixes a udev feedback loop.
