Bug Description

On my Acer Aspire One 532h netbook with 10.4 RC installed, my touchpad sends clicks even when I have disabled it in the Mouse and Pointing Devices menus. The touchpad otherwise responds smoothly. It's most annoying when typing. I've also tried several dozen settings in the "palm detection" part of Pointing Devices in Preferences to minimize the effects, but there's no discernable difference between any of the settings. This is absolutely repeatable on my system. When both Mouse and Pointing Devices panels are set to have touchpad clicks disabled, I am still able to click using the touchpad, and my palms are able to accidentally "click" the touchpad even after clicks are disabled.

This is probably a bug in Ubuntu, which is a different project from Lucid, a prototype for an editor. Are you having trouble reporting the bug under the appropriate distribution or project?

Thank you for making the change. I admit that I'm relatively new at this and was confused about the "NOT UBUNTU" even though it said Lucid. So I thought it was for something specific to Lucid but somehow not a general Ubuntu issue, which is confusing me more now that I'm trying to explain it. I apologize for any trouble I may have caused the editor project.
