Bug Description

I have successfully used "safely remove drive" to disconnect my Nokia 6120c SD card in Karmic. That was a while ago, after first release.

I'm currently running the Lucid RC version with all updates applied. When I try to "safely remove drive" on this phone, I get the following error message:

Unable to stop Nokia S60

Error detaching: helper exited with exit code 1: Detaching device /dev/sdh
USB device: /sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:10.3/usb5/5-2)
SYNCHRONIZE CACHE: FAILED: No such file or directory
(Continuing despite SYNCHRONIZE CACHE failure.)
STOP UNIT: FAILED: No such file or directory

If I use "eject" on it, it disconnects properly. But to me, and I suspect many other people, "eject" is associated with optical media.

"safely remove drive" works with an ordinary USB stick. But only if I click on the drive listing in the side panel, not on the open directory window.

Hi Irihapeti,

If you could also please test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results.

Thanks in advance.

I tried doing "apport-collect" with this kernel running, but Launchpad complains about a non-standard kernel version.
