Bug Description
Binary package hint: gnome-applets
When items on a mounted external USB device are sent to Trash, the Trash Icon show that it has contents.
If the external device is then unmounted/removed, the Trash Icon still shows contents even though opening the trash shows nothing there and doing a "Empty Garbage Bin" still does not reset it to empty.
Plugging in the same external device allows Trash to be emptied, but there is no real guarantee that a device will ever be plugged in again so whatever displays the Trash icon really needs to be updated on every mount/unmount operation if it is to provide an accurate status.
