Bug Description

In Linux Mint 8 (64-bit version), I have noticed a problem with the file open/browse dialogs in both Firefox and Opera. It appears that the text of the file type drop-down menu is too long: it lists every possible file type, making the window very broad. It is impossible to select a particular file type from the drop-down menu (since the menu does not 'drop down' at all) or to alter the width of the window simply by altering the window size specifications in both Firefox and Opera. One can *only* alter the height of the window, but the width seems to have been 'frozen.'

See here for two examples of what I mean:

A friend of mine told me that this bug can be easily fixed by you: according to him, you should truncate the text of the file type drop down menu to 40 characters (if it exceeds that number). I hope that that is indeed possible.

And by the way, just in case: the problem is not with my particular copy of Linux Mint 8 (64-bit-version), since I ran ls -ahl in the terminal and saw that the resulting lines made no wrapping or horizontal scrollbars appear.

Either way, thank you for your time and I hope that you will be able to fix this. :)

There's a workaround for this particular site: http://www.flickr.com/photos/upload/basic
