Bug Description
The only database that is supported is MySQL
This is a problem from the porting standpoint.
An external database layer that can support any database would be of benefit to all users.
The code could also be dramatically reduced as database access code is a large part of the code base.

This feature would be great, for several reasons. Since it's quite a large commitment and there are more urgent bugs and features this will have to wait.
