Bug Description

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-radeon

System: Kubuntu Lucid 10.04 beta 2

My system keeps freezing at least once a day. The freezes appears to be totally random. Initially the mouse stops responding and the desktop freezes. Then the screen turns black and xserver seems restarting, but the screen get white with grey vertical stripes and the entire system stops responding (can't switch vt, nor poweroff with a brief push on the power button). I've kwin desktop effects activated. On another partition on the same machine it's installed an Opensuse 11.2 system (using proprietary fglrx drivers) that, till now, has never had this kind of behavior. Let me know for any additional information i can give.

Thank!

Sorry for not have found that before writing the report. Should i mark this as duplicate?
