Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox

When I search something via the search bar,it shows me German search results.
But if I search something via the Firefox start page, it shows me English search results.

The first thing I do is to set the startpage to google.de. I would gladly use the Ubuntu start page so that Ubuntu gets some money from Google, but I do not want to have english search results.

This is a paper cut in my opinion!

Confirmed here with 10.04.

The Google start page and search bar search engines should be set according to the localisation chosen during installation.

It seems this has been fixed in 10.10, but why does it use custom search? This is confusing, it should use the normal search, just as the firefox search bar.
