Evolution Error while Storing folder 'Sent'. Summary and folder mismatch, even after a sync

Evolution spontaneously goes into the "Empty Trash" or "Expunge" operation. This locks up my computer to where no programs run until the "Saving Folder" process ends, with the error:

Error while Storing folder 'Sent'.

How do I fix it?
