Incompatible with backend drivers needing to be root

Bug Description

Binary package hint: cupsys

Hi,

I found that backend drivers like cups-pdf do not work under ubuntu with cupsys, since the cups daemon runs as user cupsys (in contrast to root under debian). It therefore calls drivers like /usr/lib/cupsys/backend/cups-pdf as cupsys, not as root.

cups-pdf needs root permissions in order to write into user's home directories.

Setting cups-pdf to setuid root make it work again, but could open security holes, so access should be limited to group cupsys.

regards
Hadmut
