Bug Description

Binary package hint: xorg

I have installed CrystalCursors because I want a lefthanded cursor. This worked fine in 9.10. Now, in the browser I have the lefthanded cursor that I selected, but in the browser bar and in the rest of the system, I have a blue righthanded cursor. I saved the custom setting as a separate profile.

The changes between the two cursors to me are random, but consistent. In the browser it's white, but in the preferences window of the browser it's blue. But then when I select "When firefox starts" and the dropbox appears, in the dropbox it's white again. After hovering over the dropbox, it gets white and stays white, except in the title bar of the preferences window.

"white" refers to the pointer I have selected, "blue" refers to the "wrong" pointer.

It would actually be nice to have a lefty pointer in the default setup, but that's another matter.

I upgraded two more computers (64bit amd desktop) from 9.10 to 10.04. They have exactly the same problem.

*bump*
The cursor seems to get worse. Where a few months ago I had a cursor that sometimes would show as a lefty crystal cursor, today that doesn't happen any more. It is exclusively righthanded. Until 18 months ago, I had a nice lefthanded cursor. I use ubuntu classic.

The driver is only responsible for funneling the bits onto the screen - what bits that are sent is up to the cursor theme.
