ubdate manager cannot get lock - error

Binary package hint: update-manager

10.04 beta updated on daily basis.

I note that System monitor is running.
ubuntu one sync has previously completed.

I have recently finished a large download sync in ubuntu one - worked well - then I checked using system>admin>update manager

then see error window:
E: Could not get lock /var/lib/dpkg/lock - open (11: Resource temporarily unavailable)
E: Unable to lock the administration directory (/var/lib/dpkg/), is another process using it?
E: _cache->open() failed, please report.

I closed the error window and the update processes seemed to complete normally with some updates

Thank you for taking the time to improve Ubuntu. Do you still experience this behavior? If yes, could you please describe the steps to reproduce?
