No splash screen during boot after upgrade

Bug Description

Binary package hint: xsplash

After upgrading to 10.4 beta 2 during boot I see blank screen with big text mode cursor and then with small graphical mode cursor instead of splash screen.

Using netbook remix with Acer Aspire One AOA110

UPD: Splash screen appears just a second before I see the desktop. Shutdown splash is ok,

The problem still persists for the normal Lyxn netbook remix for Acer aspire one.
Do they have any progress fixing it?

This bug was filed some time ago and was done so against a development release of Ubuntu. Is this bug still affecting you today?
