Bug Description

Binary package hint: mozilla-thunderbird

Hi

After a std upgrade with Dapper-security to 1.5.0.5-0ubuntu0.6.06 I can no longer start Thunderbird. The menu item has disappeared too, and typing mozilla-thunderbird at a cmd line prompt, just says
bash: /usr/bin/mozilla-thunderbird: No such file or directory

If I downgrade to 1.5.0.2 its all fine, but upgrading back to 1.5.0.5 is just the same, ie no thunderbird exe. I've tried uninstalling thunderbird removing all the configs via synaptic, but same problem.

When you look for thunderbird files, all i find is now under /usr/lib, there are no files under /usr/bin.

Please help, there are no other reports of this bug, so i've no idea why i'm just getting this.

Its been a week of thunderbird headaches including a dapper reinstall for other reasons. The vanishing TB was resolved in the next batch of updates within hours. Now, no updates and TB just opens crashes and cli gives a mess of segfaults. Guessing KDE and TB are not getting along?

Cheers

You say yours opens with a crash the reporter stated his doesnt open.

Julian, Is this still a problem for you with latest thunderbird? If so Could you please try to obtain a

As I mentioned earlier, for unrleated relasons, I reinstalled and
redid my updates etc and have installed all the latest adept updates.
NO problems with Thunderbird now, which I still assume occurred when I
installed the Phoenicity theme from the TB/ Mozilla site.

The gui came up, showing only the grids and the Trash icon, then
crashed and vanished.
Do you still need me to strace or backtrack the system in its current
working version? advise....

Cheers

My fault, the bug we backtraced and this report were the same issue,
probably a few days apart....or after changes and reinstalling TB.
I'll get used to using Launchpad one of these days :P

J.
