Bug Description

Binary package hint: xinput

After switching touchpad off/on keyboard and mouse input stops working. I then have to restart gdm to get it to work again.

I would not expect switching touchpad off/on would affect the keyboard or mouse.

Not sure it's the right package.

Running up-to-date lucid on a HP DV5-1194.

Hi Claus,

Thanks for including the attached files. Could you also include your /var/log/Xorg.0.log (or Xorg.0.log.old) from after reproducing the issue?

Please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn` too.

This bug affects me too. My machine is HP pavilion dv5 1299ev, distro: ubuntu 10.04 32bit / 2.6.32.21,
I can confirm that with Karmic I had no problem.
Must be same bug with #546503 "HP touchpad-disable switch damages mouse and focus capability"
