Bug Description

Binary package hint: metacity

At login windows appear without title bars. If I manually start metacity or compiz the window titles appear.

I've tried removing ~/.gconf/desktop/gnome/session/required_components and disabling visual effects but no window titles appear upon restart. This looks like a duplicate of #560082 but I can confirm for me compiz is definitely installed

I've managed to fix this with the following:

cd .local/share/applications/
mv compiz.desktop{,.old}

After logging out and back in again, window titles are still not there but compiz *is* shown as running.

Switching Visual Effects in System -> Preferences -> Appearance to "None" and back to "Extra" fixed it.

Changed in metacity (Ubuntu):
status: New → Invalid
