Bug Description

Hello

I think it is important that clamav gets a real-time capability.
I discussed it in brainstorm.ubuntu.com but he does not understand the issue.

We are fortunate to have a free antivirus, real-time protection is so complicated to create for you? You think you totally safe from hackers under Linux?

Anticipation is a powerful weapon...

Linux is nearly totally safe if all sofware source are authencicated
but in the practical case, users will bypass its check very easily by following others *recipes*
For example, PPAs are DANGEROUS.

I think you can do this already with the clamfs package, although I didn't try it.

This old bug report should get closed. ClamAV now offers "OnAccess" real-time prevention (see the ClamAV docs).
