Thunderbird does not honor the "start reply below quote"

Bug Description

Binary package hint: thunderbird

When replying to an email my reply starts on the first line of quote instead of below the quote as it is set to.
If i set it to reply above quote it works as expected.
if you select "Start my reply above quote" it works as expected

Steps to reproduce:

1. Make sure your setting in "account settings -> Composition and Addressing -> Set my reply below quote
2. Click reply to an email
3..When reply window opens the courser is on the same line as the quote

What happens:
the courser is on the same line as the quote

Expected Behavior
The courser starts below the quote

WFM with Ubuntu's 3.0.4 package, I'll test with 3.0.5 a little later. Reply is highlighted as well for me.

Even if I use reply on top.... the text isn't highlighted but not sure if it should be another bug or not but I'm thinking they are caused by same reason

As of today (i wasn't here yesterday) but now even reply above message is not not adding spaces. It looks just like the ...below....

This seems to have been a profile bug but it did take a reinstall of the system or even moving the ~/.thunderbird dir out of $HOME

Seems after reinstalling Ubuntu and Thunderbird the problem has gone. It was a profile issue

This seems to have started again using the new profile i had started. I will try to see what i can do to change this if anything

This was caused by an extension i don't recall which one but it had to do with signatures
