Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubiquity

I was trying to install to a USB stick from the omap live image when I got a dialog box

"Installation failed. The installer encountered an unrecoverable error. A desktop session will now be run so that you may investigate the problem or try installing again"

The installation was nearing the end.

flash-kernel is missing teh code to handle omap/uboot setup yet

I tested this on the daily image from 18-04-2010, but it still gave me the error.

the image from 17-4 did not have the ubiquity and flash-kernel changes included, the image from 18-4 did not build at all due to ubuntu-netboot having been re-uploaded and not yet been published while the build was running, please try one of the next days images.

Same error with today releace of RC (Ubuntu LL 64bit). I am installing from CD on my HDD desktop PC

Jep I also still got the error on RC 32-bit! Please fix before going final!

Maybe important: I got the error on a pc with an onboard nVidea 6150 GPU.

please note that this bug is for the ARM omap3 architecture and talks about an issue with writing the kernel to the onboard flash chip. if you see errors on a different architecture (intel, amd, etc) please open a new bug
