Bug Description

When trying to determine any discrete steps to reproduce Bug #56219, I managed to produce a crash. I was at the time selecting multiple wire and components, and using Ctrl-D to delete them. I had already deleted a few, and added some in, then deleted some others.

The crash left no error message, and just took out two document windows I had open.

Can you please try to get a backtrace of the crash by following http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash ? What version of oregano are you running? Is this an x86 platform? Thanks in advance.

First, I am impressed by a response already.

This is 0.40.4-2 on x86 (AMD) Dapper (6.06 LTS Desktop). I am attempting to run with debug and produce a backtrace, and will try to keep a log of my actions in an attempt to reproduce either this or Bug #56219.

The crash was only seen after having produced #56219, and created a second document. I was working in the second document window when the crash occurred.

Managed to reproduce crash, without Bug #56219 this time.
I had done many things, including (due to other commitments) leaving it running for about 2 hours with no interaction, but crucially, after creating a layout with many components and wires, deleted a wired component, then selected and deleted a line segment that had been attached to it. I will try a more miminal reproduction after posting this.

Find the output from gdb attached. Hmm - looks likely item or priv are bad pointers there.

Which version of Ubuntu/Oregano are you using? Is this still an issue?

Reproduced in Jaunty - added many wired components, and deleted them. Had reproduced and recovered from Bug #120631 (which now supercedes #56219).

The apport report is in Bug #381922 (sorry I don't know how to get apport to attach info to an existing bug).
