Bug Description
Instead of using the dbus backend, checkbox now uses sudo/gksu/kdesudo in order to run the backend as root. If the prompt is cancelled, then the gathering information step seems to stall forever. The proper behavior is that checkbox should keep running and simply skip tests requiring root privileges.
