Thank you for reporting this to Ubuntu. Unfortunately, we need some more information before we can begin working on this report. Could you please answer the following questions?

1. Are you able to run the 'top' command in a terminal when this happens to see what process is taking up the CPU? Is it firefox-bin or a different process?
2. Do you know if this problem happens in any other browsers or if it is unique to Firefox?

Once you answer those questions, we'll have a better idea of what could be causing this bug.

1: Yes, it's the firefox-bin process that's causing this.
2: Tried it with opera and the operapluginwrap is using alot (45 - 75%) cpu, but opera does not get unresponsive like firefox does...

Thank you for the clarification. Can you please make sure you are using the latest version of Firefox and let us know if this is still occurring? There have been some recent updates in Firefox 3.6.3 that were related to Flash, so there is a chance your issue has been addressed.

With the latest update cpu-use is 94-98% on the firefox-bin process when displaying the page (not playing any videos).

Sometimes Firefox profiles can become corrupt and/or extensions can conflict. Could you please try this with a new profile and see if the problem still exists? You do not need to delete your old profile to test. If this helps, you might want to try to disable all your extensions and re-enable them one by one until you find the problematic one.

You can start the profile manager with the following command:
firefox -ProfileManager

Also, could you try running Firefox in a terminal and let us know what output you get when you reproduce this bug?
