Bug Description

Binary package hint: empathy

1. Lucid development
2. empathy 2.30.0.1
3. Place video call using Gtalk.
4. Audio part was functioning as well as receiving video. Outgoing video was not functioning.

dmeg showed device recognized and setup. Reloaded driver and reattached device and output video was not functioning. Not sure if function worked in earlier Lucid releases. Cheese does receive video input and functions properly.

Thanks for taking time to report this bug. Can you please type gstreamer-properties in terminal, press enter go to video tab and click on 'test' below default input and check if your camera actually works.

I tested with the video tab for default input and received no screen. I updated lucid with the included new kernel package. After a reboot and connecting the camera after login, the video input default test yielded an output test screen. I am guessing this means that it might be working better or better than cheese usage might determine. I have been unable to see if GTalk might be working better than before since it seems to be acting better because the video test produced an output screen.

I tested with a GTalk account and do not receive input or output video.

Thanks for the testing, Can you please attach the gabble log to this bug report? Click Help>Debug and select gabble there and try to make a video call. When the video call fails please click on the save button and attach that text file to this bug report so that we can send this bug upstream. Thanks again.

Thanks for getting in touch with me Omer. I have attached my latest attempt at a GTalk/Jabber video call. I am not sending video or receiving video. I checked with cheese that my camera seemed to be working.

Curtis, there is already a bug report in which user's video is not broadcasted to the other user is it the problem you are facing that is your video is not sent but you get the video of the person you are chatting with?
