Symbols are missing in debian packages

Despite -g is set:

dpkg-buildpackage: set CFLAGS to default value: -g -O2

Actually mysqld.o is compiled with different settings:
gcc -DMYSQL_SERVER -DDEFAULT_MYSQL_HOME="\"/usr\"" -DMYSQL_DATADIR="\"/var/lib/mysql\"" -DSHAREDIR="\"/usr/share/mysql\"" -DPLUGINDIR="\"/usr/lib/mysql/plugin\"" -DHAVE_EVENT_SCHEDULER -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I../include -I../include -I../include -I../regex -I. -DPERCONA_INNODB_VERSION=10 -O3 -DBIG_JOINS=1 -felide-constructors -fno-exceptions -fno-rtti -fno-implicit-templates -fno-exceptions -fno-rtti -MT mysqld.o -MD -MP -MF .deps/mysqld.Tpo -c -o mysqld.o mysqld.cc

mysqld is stripped as well:
strip --remove-section=.comment --remove-section=.note debian/percona-xtradb-server-5.1/usr/sbin/mysqld
