Bug Description
Binary package hint: plasma-
Once upon a time, the Networkmanagement plasma widget would detect when a physical cable was plugged in and would automatically configure and activate that connection. It would also select the wired connection as the preferred connection, without deactivating the wireless network connection (if any).
Now, however, the Widget Won't. It does detect that a cable is plugged in, but there is no way to activate the connection. Automatic configuration doesn't work. Clicking "Wired Ethernet: Create network connection" and setting up the connection with blank settings (except ensuring that DHCP is selected) also does nothing.
Some possibly helpful info:
* From /var/log/
NetworkManager: <info> (eth0): carrier now ON (device state 1)
NetworkManager: <info> (eth0): carrier now OFF (device state 1)
No other information is reported in daemon.log regarding wired connections, but plugging and unplugging the cable does verify that NetworkManager is seeing the change.
