Bug Description

Hi Stephan!

Do you think it is possible to hold the storage partition on a remote disk?

I want my asrock to be totally silent, only an usb disk is there. I can store
storage on a second partition, but it would be nice to have an option here.
My reason is that I don't want my usb disk worn out very quickly.

BR,
Andras

Good idea!
Needs some brainstorming and maybe an rework of the init system.
If we can include the network in the initramfs maybe it is also possible to load the SYSTEM from Network via NFS

Even kernel could be got from a remote server using for example tftp.
we need an IP with bootp or dhcp, or don't know and doing like
other diskless solution..

a totally diskless htpc? hmmm... :)

not the fastest boot :-)

for an remote storage partition we need networking support in initramfs
(this makes kernel bigger), or we must do anything with our update
system, because the Update files will be searched on /storage. and it is
not possible to replace the "SYSTEM" file if we have an running system.
thats the reason the update function is implemented in intramfs (before
SYSTEM will be mounted). so we must search for another solution :-)
