Bug Description
On booting up Ubuntu 10.04 beta 1 and 2, my laptop arrives at the GDM login extremely quickly. After typing in my username and password it then takes 40 seconds for the desktop to appear, 20 seconds of which there is no hard drive activity. I would expect there not to be a pause without hard drive activity lasting for this period of time.
This is on an IBM T40, 1.3Ghz Pentium-M, 40GB HD, 1.25Gb RAM, ATI Radeon 7500 32MG.
This has occurred since a clean install beta 1 and after updating to beta 2.
