Bug Description

Upgrade from 9.10 Karmic (64bit) to Lucid 10.04 Beta2 failed with the following error immediately after download .

'E:Couldn't configure pre-depend libc6-i386 for lib32asound2, probably a dependency cycle.'

Amd 64 x2 Nvidia Graphics (using Nvidia's most recent drivers) 3/gig Ram - All upgrades current.
By removing all libc6-386 development packages via synaptic (rendering several of my programs useless) and losing the ability to compile programs I can install the upgrade.
On reboot the graphics drivers had failed to install properly which is a carry over from Beta1 which also failed to install the Nvidia drivers and is well posted in the bugs report for the Beta1 release.
