installer crashes / packages are broken

Bug Description

after running from terminal i got the gnome installer come up. After selecting hte packages i wanted, it appeared to download them, and then crashed, giving this terminal output:

['/usr/sbin/synaptic', '--hide-main-window', '--non-interactive', '-o=dir::etc=./conf', '-o=dir::etc::sourcelist=sources.list']
In update ['/usr/sbin/synaptic', '--hide-main-window', '--non-interactive', '-o=dir::etc=./conf', '-o=dir::etc::sourcelist=sources.list', '--update-at-startup']In Install ['/usr/sbin/synaptic', '--hide-main-window', '--non-interactive', '-o=dir::etc=./conf', '-o=dir::etc::sourcelist=sources.list', '--set-selections']

Thanks for filing this bug. The output you see from the terminal is normal. Anyway, we need some information from you:
* How did EasyUbuntu crash?
* How are packages broken?
* What items did you select?

It just froze, and then told me to "fix broken packages". The packages I
selected were the codecs, DVD tools, and a few others. Will be bale to check
again in a few days as im away at the moment.

As stated in this forum thread: http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=229980 the problem is due to totem-gstreamer-firefox-plugin requiring totem-gstreamer 1.4.1 but the latest version is 1.4.3. It appears that it causes Synaptic to bail out with that (very undescriptive) error message. When I tried to run EasyUbuntu without checking the "Watch videos inside firefox" option, the installation of everything else completed successfully. Maybe that option should be removed from future versions or replaced with mplayer-plugin.
